Hi everyone! I hope you all had a nice, relaxing weekend because I know I sure did. Tonight I want to share with you my staycation experience at the Omni Louisville Hotel, which was kindly gifted to me through a contest thrown by fellow Louisville bloggers The Blush Influence, Absolutely Alli, and The Glenny Girl and the Omni Louisville Hotel.
Devin and I were treated to a one night stay in a Premiere King room with a big and beautiful view of the west side of downtown Louisville. I arrived a few hours before him to get pictures in the room while the sun was still shining and the massive bed was all mine. The check-in experience was smooth, quick, and the attendant couldn’t have been nicer. The room itself was immaculate; not a hint of dust or smell from the previous guests at all.
Touches of Kentucky charm were decorated throughout the room. Mini bottles of a selection of bourbons sat above the mini fridge for purchase, a photograph of Kentucky’s rolling hills hung above the bed, and a picture of a Derby-attendant with binoculars hung in the bathroom. In fact, the decor of the entire hotel is undeniably Louisville, down to the smallest details. The view of the city was the best feature of the room, however, and grabbed our attention the most. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a million times over: I never get tired of this city. It’s amazing the details you notice 12 floors up you’ve never noticed before. Although there’s several restaurants and other food options available inside the hotel, we both knew we wanted to stay in bed, put on plush robes, and order room service. The dinner menu, like the room decor, had a few Louisville classics, like Hot Brown sliders and baked pimento cheese. There was only two or three vegetarian dinner options, so my options were slim. I opted for the stone-baked pizza with roasted vegetables and Devin went for the Hot Brown sliders. Oh, and an indulgent piece of dark chocolate mousse cake. We couldn’t pass that one up. The food was mediocre, which was a little disappointing considering how grand everything else had felt so far.
The bed felt like a cloud and completely sucked me in. It was that perfect hotel bed feeling – down pillows that smoosh in all the right places and a mattress that envelops you from head to toe. We slept like babies. The next morning we checked out with no problem. Much to my grateful surprise the hotel covered our room service and valet fees at no extra charge. I couldn’t believe it! I had fully intended to pay for those services, so a special shoutout to the Omni and the girls for making that possible.
Within 20 minutes I was back home in my apartment and into my own robe. I can’t recommend the Omni Louisville Hotel enough. It’s truly an all around staycation experience. You don’t have to leave the hotel to have great food, great bourbon cocktails, and a nationally-renowned spa experience at Mokara Salon & Spa. Treat yourself without lifting a finger.
